How One Idea Becomes Three Publishing Assets
You do not need three unrelated ideas to publish across three hubs. Start with one useful Core Insight, develop the comprehensive Blog master asset, then create a distinct Medium angle and a direct Substack conversation around the same underlying idea.
ONE CORE IDEA. THREE CONNECTED ASSETS.
Blog: Ownership. Medium: Discovery. Substack: Relationship.
Start with a Core Insight
Before deciding how the Blog article should begin or what the Medium headline could be, define the idea. Ask: what do you believe, and why does it matter?
A topic such as content ownership is broad. A Core Insight such as creators should use discovery platforms to strengthen assets they control gives you a position to explain, question, illustrate, and apply.
Step 1: Define what the Blog master asset must answer
Ask what comprehensive question the Blog article will answer. Then use the master asset to define the subject, explain the argument, address misunderstandings, connect related material, and give the reader a useful continuation.
Step 2: Give the Blog asset a place in the library
Determine which Pillar the article belongs to, what earlier concept supports it, which related pages deepen it, and what an appropriate continuation would be.
Step 3: Find the Medium angle
Return to the same Core Insight and identify a distinct discovery treatment. A narrative, observation, mistake, argument, or sharper angle creates a reason for the Medium expression to exist without reproducing every section of the Blog master asset.
Step 4: Create the Substack conversation
Ask what personal context and practical action belong in the subscriber conversation. The same Core Insight can become a direct question, reflection, or practical audit.
Step 5: Choose the Connected Next Step
Choose the continuation according to the reader need in that specific expression. The best next destination may be a related article, Foundation page, methodology page, or an approved resource.
Adapt the structure, not just the wording
Weak adaptation changes sentences. Strong adaptation can change the editorial approach. The Blog may begin by explaining, Medium may begin with tension, and Substack may begin by speaking directly to the reader.
Preserve the central meaning
Before publishing each expression, return to the Core Insight. Headlines, openings, examples, scope, and depth can change, but the underlying claim should remain coherent.
You are creating assets, not filling slots
The existence of three hubs does not require three expressions from every ideal. The planning framework should help determine what deserves creation rather than becoming another publishing quota.
Use a simple Triple Hub brief
Write five lines before drafting: Core Insight, Blog Master Asset, Medium Angle, Substack Conversation, and Connected Next Step. If those answers are clear and genuinely different, you are ready to develop the campaign.
YOUR NEXT STEP
Next, step back from the five-part planning process and examine what makes the overall Triple Hub Publishing Method different from simply publishing the same content in several places.
